Listifys operates as an online classified marketplace for users in the United States. This policy applies to your use of Listifys in the United States. It is not legal advice. Applicable U.S. federal and state laws (including California privacy laws where they apply) may give you additional rights.

Fraud Prevention Mission

Fraud harms buyers, honest sellers, and platform trust. Listifys maintains layered controls to identify bad actors, educate users, and partner with payments and law enforcement when necessary.

1.1Scope

This policy covers fraudulent listings, deceptive messaging, payment scams, account takeover, promotion abuse, referral fraud, and collusive review schemes on listifys.com and affiliated apps.

1.2Complementary Policies

It works alongside Payment Terms, Account Suspension, and Marketplace Safety Tips. Violations may trigger enforcement, fund holds, and law enforcement referral.

Common Fraud Types We Combat

2.1Buyer and Seller Scams

  • Non-delivery or empty box shipping fraud
  • Fake or altered payment confirmations and screenshot scams
  • Off-platform payment requests via UPI QR swap, wire, or crypto
  • Advance-fee fraud for rentals, jobs, or high-demand goods
  • Counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented branded goods

2.2Account and Platform Abuse

  • Credential stuffing, phishing, and account takeover
  • Multi-account evasion after suspension
  • Bot-generated spam listings and message floods
  • Manipulated reviews, clicks, or promotion metrics
  • Stolen payment cards and friendly fraud chargebacks

Prevention Controls

3.1Technical Measures

  • Risk scoring at registration, listing, message, and payout events
  • Device, IP, and behavioral fingerprinting within privacy limits
  • Rate limits, CAPTCHA, and anomaly detection on high-risk flows
  • Secure payment routing with 3-D Secure and partner fraud tools
  • Image hashing and duplicate listing detection

3.2Verification

Elevated risk may trigger phone reverification, payout delays, or manual review. See our Account Suspension & Termination Policy.

3.3Education

In-app warnings, safety banners, and the Marketplace Safety Tips guide help users recognize scams before money changes hands.

Detection and Investigation

4.1Signals

We investigate user reports, chargeback data, bank alerts, automated classifiers, and law enforcement referrals. Investigations may preserve messages, payment metadata, and device logs per our Data Retention Policy.

4.2Confidentiality

To avoid tipping off fraudsters, we do not disclose investigation methods or timelines to subjects under review.

Enforcement and Recovery

5.1Actions

  • Listing removal, payment holds, and payout reversals where supported
  • Temporary or permanent account suspension and device blocks
  • Reporting to payment networks, banks, and law enforcement
  • Civil recovery where amounts owed to Listifys or victims are established

5.2Victim Assistance

Victims should report to contact@listifys.com with evidence and file complaints with local cybercrime authorities (e.g., cybercrime.gov.in in India). Listifys cooperates with valid legal process under our Law Enforcement Request Policy.

User Responsibilities

6.1Do Your Part

  • Use strong unique passwords and enable available MFA
  • Keep deals on Listifys approved payment flows
  • Report suspicious messages immediately—do not engage
  • Do not launder payments or sell accounts

6.2Merchant Due Diligence

Business sellers must monitor for unauthorized use of their brand and cooperate with counterfeit investigations.

Regulatory Compliance

7.1India

Listifys supports India's digital fraud reporting ecosystem and intermediary due diligence obligations. We may share information with authorized agencies under valid legal process consistent with the DPDP Act.

7.2Global

We align with payment network rules, AML expectations, and consumer protection laws in markets we serve, including GDPR data minimization for fraud logs.
