Our Commitment to Children
Listifys is a general-audience classified marketplace not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the minimum age required to use our services.
1.1Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years old—or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher—to create a Listifys account, list items for sale, or receive payouts. Users between 13 and 17 may browse only where local law permits and must not transact without verifiable parental authorization where required.
1.2No Knowing Collection
If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without appropriate consent, we will delete the account and associated data promptly, except where limited retention is legally required for safety investigations.
Children's Data We Avoid
2.1Prohibited Collection
- Knowingly soliciting birthdates or school information from minors for marketing
- Behavioral advertising targeted to users we identify as under 18
- Requiring government ID from users solely for non-transactional features without necessity
- Publishing minors' personal contact details in public listing fields
2.2Parental Authority
Where applicable law allows a parent or guardian to create or supervise a minor's account, the adult account holder is responsible for all activity and must complete any required verification.
Regional Children's Privacy Laws
3.1India
The DPDP Act 2023 treats individuals under 18 as children for consent purposes. Listifys does not process children's personal data for targeted advertising or profiling that could harm their well-being. Verifiable parental consent is required before allowing a minor to use transactional features where we permit such use.
3.2United States (COPPA)
Listifys is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. Parents who believe a child under 13 provided data may contact contact@listifys.com for deletion.
3.3United Kingdom and EEA
Where GDPR and UK Age Appropriate Design Code apply, we apply heightened privacy defaults for younger users, minimize data collection, and avoid nudge techniques that encourage oversharing.
Safety Measures for Minors
4.1Platform Protections
- Reporting tools for users who encounter suspected minor exploitation
- Automated and human review for grooming patterns in messages where technically deployed
- Removal of listings that unlawfully sell products to minors
- Coordination with law enforcement and NCMEC-equivalent bodies on CSAM
4.2Education
Listifys encourages parents to discuss safe online buying and selling. Minors should not meet unknown buyers or sellers alone. See Marketplace Safety Tips.
Parental and Guardian Rights
5.1Access and Deletion
Verified parents or guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of a minor's personal data by emailing contact@listifys.com with proof of relationship and the child's account identifiers.
5.2Response Time
We aim to respond to verified parental requests within 30 days, sooner where child safety is implicated.
